Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition is an organization supporting the Towpath trail to the east of Wayne County.

B & O Bike Trail is a paved bike trail built on the railroad bed of the former Baltimore & Ohio Railway. Connecting Mansfield, Lexington, Bellville and Butler, the trail traverses some of the most scenic parts of North Central Ohio. There are multiple access points in each community and the trail is open year-round during daylight hours. (18.3 miles)

Knox County has three trails with diverse uses. All three rails-to-trails form the close to 35 mile Knox County portion of the Ohio to Erie Trail, a 330-mile mostly off-road trail from the Ohio River to Lake Erie.

  • Kokosing Gap Bike Trail (Danville to Mount Vernon) offers a smooth asphalt surface perfect for roller blading or tour biking. (14 miles)
  • Heart of Ohio Bike Trail (Centerburg to Mount Vernon) offers a lovely walking and biking surface. (16 miles)
  • Mohican Valley Bike Trail winds through the spectacular Mohican River valley. It offers mountain bikers and horse riders a more varied terrain with a sand and stone surface. (5 miles)
